2012 Utah Sky Trials Results

2012 Utah Sky Trials Results Friday’s Preliminary Flights may have been the best we’ve ever had. We had amazing flights from falconers from Utah, Idaho and California. Kazakhstan Some were first time visitors like 18-year old Braydon Andersen and others were veterans like Andy Doran and Ken Tuttle who were 18 about the time falconry was invented. Sadly, Rohn Peterson’s bird Saber was killed by an eagle. Click here to donate some money towards replacing Saber. Thanks to those who have already donated. Saturday followed with […]

2012 – Rohn Peterson’s Falcon Killed by Eagle.

Rohn Peterson’s Falcon Killed by Eagle. As you may have heard, tragedy struck at the Sky Trials on Friday. 2011 – Brad Townsend’s Falcon Killed by Eagle.

Brad Townsend’s Falcon Killed by Eagle. As you may have heard or witnessed, tragedy struck at the Utah Sky Trials on Saturday. Brad Townsend’s falcon Rob had just put on a spectacular flight, one of the best of the day, and chased the pigeon out of sight. Rob pursued with vigor and eventually caught the pigeon. As eagles do, one was watching from the clouds, saw an opportunity, swooped down and killed Rob. In Nature these are not tragedies, it’s just how it […]

2004 Results

The 2004 version of the Utah Sky Trials was a great success!  You know it was a good day when you wish you had smeared on your sunscreen, and your soda didn’t freeze!  There were many excellent flights. The birds flew high and the pigeons flew fast.  Friday was a day for sun glasses, while Saturday had more of a chilly edge to it with a slight breeze.  The birds didn’t mind and put on a great show. Tyler Stiens, […]
